Family Discovery Day is a Huge Success

CFLA Hyde Orlando’s Fall Family Discovery Day was a great event this year.  Families spent time together having fun and talking about what mattered most to their families.  It was a morning dedicated to strengthening our families and our community that began with breakfast treats.

Parents then spent time with Principal Joanne Goubourn, while students created cards of thanks for a member of their family.

Next came family fun, with families “competing” in basketball, cup-stacking, giant sled and helium sticks.

Families then discussed values important to their families and created magnets featuring their family motto.  Finally, the morning ended with a delicious barbeque provided by CFLA Dad, Mr. Quincy Adams.

It was a morning filled with love, laughter and growth!!

OCPS Auditors Give High Praise To CFLA

In the report of the District Audit conducted by OCPS in the late spring 2017 (the full report is available on the webpage under the “Current Parents and Students” tab), the District concluded that “CFLA continues to be a strong independent public charter school in Orange County and a highly valued partner of OCPS.  CFLA continues to be compliant in meeting all contractual obligations, statutory requirements.  All of this is evidence of a well-managed, productive learning environment facilitated by its strong leadership, staff and students.  CFLA is unique in that it uses the Hyde Model for character development with its young leaders.”

Thank you to OCPS for all of their assistance and support in helping CFLA become an excellent school of choice for parents and students in Central Florida!
